I am probably late (yep… like that was something new, isn’t it? 😛 ) but it’s worth sharing.
If you didn’t know already, July is not only the month of (hopefully) sun, summer, outdoor activities, holidays, fun and rest. It is also an environmentally friendly month! It is indeed PLASTIC FREE JULY.
This is an amazing campaign born with the intention of bringing awareness and consciousness on the massive amount of disposable plastic that gets used (and sadly, disposed) everyday on the planet, as well as the huge problems that such amount creates. It has been estimated that by 2050 there will be more plastic than fishes in our oceans. How sad is that? By doing simple actions, and refusing single use plastic, we can make a difference. That’s when the Plastic Free July’s challenge comes into play, challenging people to get involved and something about this issue: the aim is to refuse all sources of single-use plastic for a day a week or a month, or the 4 main sources of plastic (plastic bags, plastic bottles, straws and take-away coffee cups).
Please share this post, talk about it on social media and invite your friends, family members and co-workers in taking part into this. You can sign up for free on the Plastic Free July website. Just by bringing a re-usable bag for your grocery shopping, asking for no straw when ordering your drink or re-filling your re-usable bottle you can make a huge different and leave a greener footprint.
